Jumpoff Buffalo Ranch would like to offer you the opportunity to come and check out your hunting skills. The 8500 acre ranch offers Mule Deer hunting with rifle and archery. This provides the opportunity for a challenge and to experience hunting at a traditional level. Please check the State of South Dakota Game Fish and Parks for archery season dates. Licenses for Bow Hunting can be purchased over the counter. For those who wish to hunt with Black Powder, you must get a Special West River Buck license. This season runs with the regular deer season. Please contact us with questions to receive these licenses. Drawings are first week in May so applicants must apply with the State of South Dakota before this deadline.
Rifle and archery are four day hunts while the rest are are two to three day hunts.
We also offer Trophy Buffalo Hunting. You have the opportunity to chose the weapon of your choice to engage in a buffalo hunt. We offer this service anytime of the year with the best time from November through January. Check out our packages below.
Other wildlife on the ranch includes Pronghorn Antelope, Bobcats, Prairie Dogs, Raccoon, Coyote, Fox, Prairie Chicken, Mountain Lion and Bald Eagles have been spotted from time to time.
Be sure to reserve your dates for 2008 today. Deer Hunts are usually sold out one to two years in advance.
Hunting Packages
For your convenience we have assembled three packages for you to choose from.
| Buffalo Hunt
Buffalo hunts include, assisting in transportation to and from the ranch and lodging at the ranch cabin. Unpacking, final check in, and target shooting is required [to insure a one shot hunt] after the arrival at the ranch cabin. Hunters will receive a tour of the ranch to familiarize themselves with the ranch geography. Ranch personnel will accompany the hunters during the hunt. We will assist in field dressing the animals and will deliver the animal to a local processing facility. All the itinerary will vary depending on arrival time and existing circumstances. Please reserve your hunt dates early. Buffalo hunting does not require a license from the State of South Dakota.

| Deer Hunt

Semi-guided hunts (tailored to fit however much or little assistance is wanted) to and from the hunting location of their choice. The itinerary will vary depending on arrival time and existing circumstances. We will offer no more than five deer hunts per year, maintaining the hunting quality in our area. Please reserve your hunt dates early as we are usually one to two years out on reservations. Deer License and season dates must be obtained from the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks. |

Combo
The combination hunting will be exactly what has been described in the above packages. The only difference is that the scheduling will be at the hunters discretion. Deer and buffalo hunts include assistance with transportation to and from the ranch house. Guests will receive a ranch orientation tour to show where the ranch boundaries are. Plans for upcoming hunting days will be discussed during the evening with the ranch personnel. |
